Charli xcx has released a new remix of her song "Spring breakers" with Kesha.
On Sunday, October 14th, the two artists had been teasing this collaboration on social media. Charli had just released the remix album of her critically acclaimed and hugely successful pop album Brat called Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat on October 11th that featured remixes of all the songs from the original album with additional artists and different production. "Spring breakers featuring kesha" has now been added as the 17th official song on the remix album on streaming platforms.
The song is certainly an extension of the crazy party girl life style that Charli sings about on the original. Kesha brings more energy to the song with her performance and brash attitude. "Me and Charli, we the party girl gods" says Kesha throughout the track.
Some of Kesha's biggest hits, like "TiK ToK", "Your Love Is My Drug", and "Timber" with Pitbull were some of the biggest party anthems of the 2010s. It's poetic that these two artists, who have some of the biggest party songs in modern pop, collaborated on a song about partying.
"TikTok bitch 'til the kingdom come" says Kesha.
"Spring breakers" was originally on the Brat deluxe album Brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not, as were the songs "Hello goodbye" and "Guess". "Guess" also got an official remix with Billie Eilish. It looks like the song "Hello goodbye" is now the only song from the Brat album cycle to not have a remix, but at the rate Charli has been going, it wouldn't be surprising to see that track receive a remix as well.
