Fans have been wondering if the rest of Roan’s follow-up to The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess will follow the country-inspired direction of her newest single. She offers some insight in her announcement, writing:
“Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is.. hmm right now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun and The Giver is my take on c–try xoxo may the classic country divas lead their genre, I am just here to twirl and do a little gay yodel for yall.”
Roan originally debuted “The Giver” on Saturday Night Live in November and has spent the past several weeks teasing its release through a series of different personas on Instagram, including a plumber, a businesswoman, and, most recently, a construction worker. Each character corresponds to a special edition 7-inch vinyl of the single, all of which are available for purchase on Roan’s website.
