A lot has changed for guitarist Chad Gilbert between the release of New Found Glory's 2020 LP Forever and Ever x Infinity and their 2026 release Listen Up!
The band moved from Hopeless Records to Pure Noise; released an acoustic album, Make The Most Of It; and Gilbert was diagnosed with pheochromocytoma, a rare form of cancer that he's been battling since December of 2021.
Discussing his diagnosis and the process of returning to being a member of the band after fighting for his life, Gilbert explained in an interview with Rolling Stone why it means so much to keep giving new music to his fans, as he's been able ot turn his personal grief into something positive for others struggling.
"Those tough experiences, as hard as they are, have always been a place for me to inspire our fans," Gilbert explained. "I have my crying moments where, like everyone, I have to let it out. But I like that we can turn it around into something positive... It’s always been just to inspire and grow a community of people that want to go to our shows and smile and have a good time.”
Debuting their new single "100%" back in April of 2025, New Found Glory officially released Listen Up! on February 20, 2026, to strong initial sales, landing at 23 on the Billboard US Top Album Sales chart. While Gilbert will not be appearing on every show of the band's forthcoming tour with Yellowcard and Plain White T's, which includes multiple Warped Tour appearances, the 45-year-old told Rolling Stone he plans to play as often as he can, and will remain the creative engine of New Found Glory into the future.
