Celine Dion has alerted her audience to “fake” music claiming to feature her voice on various streaming platforms. In a message she shared via social media, she let her fans know about the unsanctioned, AI-generated recordings that seem to be representing her name and likeness.
Dion did not specify which tracks are misleading, but some suggest she may be referring to an AI cover of the gospel song “Heal Me Lord,” which recently surfaced on YouTube and has since been redistributed across multiple accounts, garnering significant attention, including one video credited to her that reached over one million views.
In the statement, Dion's team clarified, “Please be advised that these recordings are fake and not approved, and are not songs from her official discography.” Recent advances in AI technology have enabled software that can now analyze and emulate a singer’s unique voice without their consent.
Celine Dion has been on a gradual return to public life following her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome. After a period of recovery, she had a comeback with a performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and the release of her documentary titled I Am: Celine Dion.
