The four Sam Mendes directed Beatles biopic movies are set to release in April 2028, per Mendes's announcement announcement at CinemaCon. The confirmed cast was brought on stage, with John Lennon being played by Harris Dickinson, Paul McCartney played by Paul Mescal, Ringo Starr by Barry Keoghan, and George Harrison being portrayed by Joseph Quinn.
Each member will have their own individual biopic, but all four films are slated for theatrical release at the same time. As Mendes puts it, the films will be the “first binge-able theatrical experience," and that “it’s a chance to understand them more deeply." He added that there’s a specific order in which he suggests that the films be watched, but did not elaborate further.
The film is also the first narrative feature to be granted music rights to the Beatles’ entire catalog, including all 27 of their number one hits.
Mendes says principal photography on the film will take a year, with all four films being shot simultaneously.
