Caroline Polachek has graced us with the release of a new song titled "On the Beach," which stands as part of the soundtrack for the upcoming PlayStation 5 game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set to be launched later this week on June 26.

The track, along with an alternate version called the "Timefall Mix," sees Polcheck collaborate with Danny L Harle. Polachek and Harle co-wrote the song in partnership with Hideo Kojima, the writer and director of Death Stranding and the legendary Metal Gear series.

Polachek explained how she dusted the song off the shelf for the project:

“‘On the Beach’ was actually one of the first songs I ever made with Danny L Harle, but it was too alien and industrial—almost too evil—to work sense on Pang, so I set it aside ’til the right thing came along. When Kojima approached me about DS2, I showed him the sketch of it, and he agreed that it was a perfect fit, and, so, eight years after starting this song, it got reopened, extended, and finished for the perfect setting.”
