Philadelphia-based Carmen Perry, better known to some as one-fourth of Remember Sports, has announced her debut solo album Eyes Like a Mirror, coming June 6 via Mtn Laurel Recordings.
Ten years in the making, the album was co-produced by Perry alongside Lucas Knapp and Michael Cormier-O’Leary, and features Heeyoon Woon (aka Boosegumps) plus members of fellow Philly bands 2nd Grade and Friendship.
Lead single “Readjust”, out today, is one of the oldest songs on the record, as Perry describes in the accompanying press release:
“Eyes Like a Mirror is about growing up and learning who you are through the eyes of the people you love the most. I wrote ‘Readjust’ when I first moved to Philly ten years ago and had no idea what I wanted out of life, but I knew I wanted to try everything. When I hear it now I think of being young and aimless, with the confidence that the pieces of your life will fall into place no matter how badly you fuck it up.”
