Carly Rae Jepsen returns with double album 'Day and Night'

Dana Badii

Today, Canadian singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen announced her eighth studio album Day and Night. It will be a double album, with twelve tracks per LP, and will be out on September 18th under Interscope Records.

The first single, "On Wires," will be out this Friday.

Jepsen worked on Day and Night with collaborators and friends, including Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, and husband Cole M.G.N., whom she married last year. Day is described as being “organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of Seventies-inspired psychedelic pop,” while Night “is exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance pop.”

On June 1st, Jepsen's official website played snippets of two different instrumentals for twelve hours each. Just over a week ago on June 11th, she started to post cryptic images on social media, captioned by a lyric, location, and timestamp.

Carly Rae Jepsen will be performing at All Things Go NYC. Check out further details down below.

Day and Night is out on September 18th. Pre-order the album here.
