Car Seat Headrest announce Chicago headlining show, tease full tour

It's been a slow couple of years for Car Seat Headrest. In the final stretch of their 2022 tour supporting 2020 record Making a Door Less Open, frontman Will Toledo caught COVID, and his prolonged symptoms made it clear he'd developed a case of long COVID. The band had no choice but to cancel the remainder of the tour, as well as several one-off appearances scheduled for later that year.

The band have signaled that they're ready to tour again, and have already confirmed two outings – one at Salt Lake City festival Kilby Block Party in May, and a headlining set at the Salt Shed in Chicago in late July. In the caption of their Instagram post announcing the show, the band alluded that more was to be announced soon.

Car Seat Headrest released a live album of their set at Brooklyn Steel, Faces From The Masquerade, last December, and rumblings of a new album are certainly in order, as the band have shared photos from the studio in the time following Toldedo's recovery.
