Bruce Springsteen reveals long awaited "lost albums" collection

Bruce Springsteen's long rumored Tracks 2 box set is finally seeing the light of day, the singer revealed via Instagram.

A new release seemingly titled Tracks 2: The Lost Albums is on the way according to a teaser shared by the Boss. The much anticipated followup to the 1998 Tracks box set was recently teased by Bruce's team, who shared a press release stating "Upcoming releases in 2025 will include a look back at Springsteen’s storied recording career, featuring never-before-heard material."

Springsteen had been notoriously tight lipped about this material, but eventually told Rolling Stone in 2022 that he had "a box set of five unreleased albums that are basically post-1988." Bruce's legendary E Street Band went on hiatus in 1989, leaving Springsteen to his own devices until their reformation a decade later.

“People look at my work in the Nineties, and they go, ‘The Nineties wasn’t a great decade for Bruce. He was kind of doing this, and he wasn’t in the E Street Band …’ I actually made a lot of music during that period of time. I actually made albums. For one reason or another, the timing wasn’t right or whatever, I didn’t put them out.”

It's not yet known what material will be included on Tracks 2 but die-hards have been speculating for ages. We might get to hear what Nebraska sounded like with a full band before Springsteen decided on a more intimate, acoustic sound – or perhaps a lost album that Bruce describes as being "all drum loops and things like that, and it uses synthesizers."

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to kick off a 16-show European tour on May 14 in Manchester.
