Brian Wilson, legendary founder of the Beach Boys, died this morning (June 11) at 82 years old. The news was revealed on his Facebook page. While there is still no cause of death, Wilson was living with a neurocognitive disorder akin to dementia, according to conservatorship documents filed by his family in 2024.
The post reads, “We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved father Brian Wilson has passed away. We are at a loss for words right now. Please respect our privacy at this time as our family is grieving. We realize that we are sharing our grief with the world. Love & Mercy.”
As a member of the Beach Boys, Wilson is remembered for writing major hits such as, “Good Vibrations” and “I Get Around,” as well as composing their 1966 opus, Pet Sounds.
