Queen’s lead guitarist Brian May says the band won’t perform in the US anytime soon, as it is “too dangerous.”
The legendary rock band's last performance on US soil was in 2023, during their North American Rhapsody tour with singer Adam Lambert.
“America is a dangerous place at the moment, so you have to take that into account,” May told the Daily Mail. “It's very sad because I feel like Queen grew up in America and we love it, but it's not what it was. Everyone is thinking twice about going there at the moment.”
Although May didn’t specify the reasons for ruling out the US from any upcoming tours, many protests have sparked after the deaths of Renée Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Other artists, such as Billie Eilish, Djo, Green Day, Neil Young, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and more, have condemned the actions of ICE and President Donald Trump.
May also revealed that Queen won’t play Glastonbury 2027 due to the organizers' politics on badger culling, “[...] unless that changes, I won't do it,” he says. “They like killing badgers, and they think it's for sport and that's something I cannot support because we've been trying to save these badgers for years, and they are still being killed for years, so that's the reason we're missing out on it.”
