If someone filled Taylor Swift's tour bus with live crickets in 2026, they would never find the body. (Or as arguably the most famous singer on the planet would put it, "No Body, No Crime.") But in 2007, Taylor Swift was only beginning to grasp power for the first time with early country hits like "Tim McGraw" and "Our Song," and her tourmate Brad Paisley got away with the crickets as a prank. Though Swift did concede she was unable to sleep "for months" as a result.
Swift relayed this tale during her acceptance speech at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony last night after Paisley introduced her onto the stage for her induction. She joked about a 20-year estrangement from Paisley, though he actually attended her wedding to Travis Kelce this July. (He told Associated Press it was "ironically, one of the least pretentious weddings I’ve ever seen"). Swift is officially the youngest person to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame at 36, and Lainey Wilson performed an acoustic rendition of "Love Story" in her honor.
