While Bob’s Burgers takes a breather during its mid-season hiatus, fans aren’t going hungry, musically speaking.
The animated sitcom just dropped a striking cover of Joy Division’s post-punk classic, “Transmission”. Watch below:
Released March 27th on the Bob’s Burgers Side Orders YouTube channel, the track finds Bob (H. Jon Benjamin) stepping into the shadowy baritone of Ian Curtis, while Gene (Eugene Mirman) handles synth duties with his usual quirky flair. Bob’s vocals are delightfully rough around the edges, but they carry enough gravitas to honor Curtis’s iconic tone. The show’s animation team complements the performance with a hypnotic, kaleidoscopic visual sequence that mirrors the song’s pulsing intensity, an inventive marriage of sound and sight that’s quintessentially Bob’s Burgers.
As the series gears up for its 16th season return on Fox, set for April 26th, fans can celebrate the longevity of this family-centric comedy. Last year, Bob’s Burgers was renewed alongside The Simpsons and Family Guy, ensuring we’ll have many more years of burger-flipping antics through the 2028–29 season.
And if you’re craving more of the show’s musical side, the 106-track Bob’s Burgers Music Album remains a treasure trove of past season highlights.
