1.5-inch Bob Marley dreadlock up for auction

Bob Marley needs no introduction, and neither does his hair. Still, this is a bit odd: A 1.5-inch dreadlock from the reggae icon has gone up for auction in the United Kingdom through JC Auctions. The high estimate for the lot is £25,000, or approximately $33,000.

In 1978, Marley performed on BBC's Top of the Pops, and a teenage fan named Andrea requested the hair after a rendition of "Satisfy My Soul".

"He was chuckling away, and I asked if I could take off a piece of his hair," Andrea recalls. "He just kept nodding and appeared amused by it, so I twisted a piece of his dreadlock off. And he, of course, gave me his autograph as well."

You can bid for the singer's strands here. Bids close on Thursday, April 9th, at 2:00 p.m. BST. This is the first time some of Marley's hair has been available for purchase in two decades, so now's your chance!
