Today, Black Country, New Road has released a new single titled "Happy Birthday". This is the second single from their upcoming album, Forever Howlong, set to drop on April 4 via Ninja Tune.
Forever Howlong features a split in vocal and songwriting contributions among Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, and May Kershaw and the record was produced by James Ford. The first single from the new record, "Besties," came out at the end of January.
The new track features a gradual build over piano and guitar, with Hyde’s lyrics talking through generational gaps and a call for greater awareness from the youth. Accompanying the song is a stop-motion video directed by Lesley-Anne Rose, with a narrative of two birds coming to one another's aid in the woods.
Black Country, New Road has been actively road-testing material from 'Forever Howlong' throughout their recent performances. After a series of successful dates in 2024, they are set to return to the road this year, including appearances at various festivals.
