Billy Corgan has unveiled a new solo project, Billy Corgan and The Machines of God, set to celebrate the anniversaries of The Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, Machina/The Machines of God, and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. The group will also incorporate material from Corgan’s 2024 release, Aghori Mhori Mei, with a national U.S. tour dubbed "A Return to Zero" kicking off June 7th.

The tour will see Corgan leading a four-piece, two-set guitar lineup, staying true to the sonic foundations of the classic Pumpkins albums. Alongside Corgan, The Machines of God will feature newly appointed Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Kiki Wong, drummer Jake Hayden, and bassist Kid Tigrrr (Jenna Fournier). The run includes standalone dates and previously confirmed festival appearances.

The Smashing Pumpkins have finally revealed details for the long-awaited, fully reconstituted release of their 2000 concept albums, Machina/The Machines of God and Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. The extensively remixed and remastered 80-song box set will be available exclusively at Billy Corgan’s Madame Zuzu’s tea shop in Highland Park, IL. This massive collection includes a 48-track ‘MACHINA’, plus 32 additional tracks of demos, outtakes, and live performances, marking the first official unification of the two records.

Additionally, a 16-song reissue of Machina/The Machines of God on vinyl is set for August 22nd, with pre-orders opening June 27th.

Beyond the Machina reissue, 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness. To celebrate, Corgan has teamed up with Chicago’s Lyric Opera for "A Night of Mellon Collie and Infinite Sadness," a seven-performance series running from November 21–30, 2025.
