For the second time in her career, Billie Eilish has been named Apple Music's Artist of the Year. "Since day one, Apple Music has supported my music and artistry, and I am both honored and humbled to receive this recognition as Artist of the Year at this point in my career," Eilish shared in a statement.
Eilish kicked off the year with a bang, earning two Grammy wins for her contribution to Greta Gerwig's Barbie soundtrack with "What Was I Made For." Since then, her year has only gotten brighter. In May, she released her third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which included hits like "Lunch" and "Birds of a Feather." This work, along with her collaboration on Charli XCX's "Guess," garnered seven total Grammy nominations, including nods for Album of the Year and Record of the Year.
There’s been plenty of speculation about who might take Apple Music's crown in 2024, with Kendrick Lamar and Chappell Roan both making strong cases. Yet, it’s hard to disagree with this pick—and I think it’s a safe bet this won’t be her last time, either.
