On Friday, February 7th, Bandcamp is collaborating with MusiCares to donate 100% of the proceeds from the day to support musicians impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
The nonprofit organization MusiCares provides critical support and resources to the music community, including health services, housing assistance, and mental health counseling. Recently, they raised $24 million alongside The Recording Academy during the Grammy weekend’s charity efforts for the L.A. wildfires.
As part of their Bandcamp <3 LA fundraiser, the music platform also partnered with Shepard Fairey, the artist and founder of OBEY Clothing, on a limited-edition T-shirt.

Fairey attributes the inspiration for the shirt’s design to L.A.’s resiliency in the aftermath of the fires, saying:
“I was heartbroken by the immense loss our community in Los Angeles suffered due to the wildfires. The city is enduring such a difficult time, and many artists, musicians, and dedicated individuals are working tirelessly to rebuild their lives. Drawing inspiration from the incredible strength and resilience of the people here, I created this T-shirt for Bandcamp's Love LA Fundraiser, with all proceeds going directly to MusiCares.”
The fundraiser runs from midnight to midnight PST, starting on Friday. Afterward, Bandcamp will continue its staple Bandcamp Friday fundraiser in which the site waives its cut of profits and 100% of sales go to the artists and labels on the platform. This year’s Bandcamp Fridays are on March 7th, May 2nd, August 1st, September 5th, October 3rd, and December 5th.
