Puerto Rican pop legend Bad Bunny made a name for himself in the WWE, but this upcoming role, directed by Darren Aronofsky, isn't a The Wrestler sequel. But it is sports-oriented, at least.
Caught Stealing, an upcoming film from the director of Requiem for a Dream and The Whale, will star Austin Butler as a former baseball player in 1990s New York City. Matt Smith and Zoë Kravitz have been confirmed for the cast as well, but Bad Bunny is the name turning heads more than any other.
Bad Bunny has spent years establishing himself in the acting world, though his roles, including his brief appearance in Bullet Train and, let's face it, his acting in the WWE, would be characterized as boisterous, physical, and cartoonish—decidedly not what you expect from your typical Aronofsky film.
With Caught Stealing so early in production, there's no telling the significance of Bad Bunny's role in the film. Like Bullet Train, he may be relegated to a scene or two. Inversely, it may grant an opportunity for the Latin trap artist to truly flex his acting chops.
