Bursting onto the metal scene comes Avidious, LA's newest heavy duo, comprised of multi-instrumentalist Henry Lin and vocalist Issac Jones. The metalcore duo has dropped their melodic debut single, "Out of Time", mixed and mastered by Adair Daufembach (Megadeth, Angra, Kiko Loureiro).
Check it out below:
Formed in 2024 as one of the first songs for an album, "Out of Time" blends heavy, As I Lay Dying-like, metalcore riffs with a soaring chorus and a djent-y pulse.
Hank Lin explains:
"'Out Of Time' came together in 2024 as one of the first ideas for an album. The chorus melody was the starting point and set the tone for everything else. I wanted it to feel both aggressive and melancholic, like a mix of frustration and acceptance."
Isaac Jones adds:
"We all make mistakes, and it’s easy to get stuck wondering 'what if?' We wish we could turn back time, fix things, or make different choices. But the more we try to relive the past, the harder it becomes to notice what’s right in front of us. 'Out Of Time' is about breaking that loop - learning to let go of regret and focus on what we can still change, instead of what we can’t. The song actually started with the working title 'Last Regret', which captures that same feeling of wanting to move on but being held back by what’s already done."
