Autechre announce first North American tour in ten years

Electronic wizards Autechre are setting their sights on North America. For the first time in a decade, the UK-based duo (comprised of Rob Brown and Sean Booth) will embark on a massive tour, touching down in places like Colorado, Texas, Quebec, Massachusetts, and more. Additionally, the tour is bookended by some dates in Europe and the UK.

It is "expected" (according to a press release) that recordings of some of these shows may end up on the duo's ongoing AE_2022– series, which compiles live recordings of almost-entirely new music, performed in various cities.

So far, they've released recordings from cities such as Athens, Sydney, and Lisbon, stretching as far back as the titular 2022. The newest recording added to the project is Lyon, from May of 2024. So far, no North American cities have been represented in the series, though the entire collection thus far amounts to over 20 hours of music.

The band's last studio albums were a pair of 2020 LPs, Sign and Plus.
