Austra – aka singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer Katie Stelmanis – is back with her first new record in five years. Chin Up Buttercup is out November 14 on Domino. The album was co-produced by Stelmanis and Kieran Adams.

The first single from the album, "Math Equation", is also out now, with a video directed by Trevor Blumas. Watch and listen below:

Stelmanis wrote much of the record in the wake of her longtime long-term relationship coming to a close. "I was completely blindsided," she says. "The person I loved woke up one day, told me she wasn’t happy, and I basically never saw her again."

Stelmanis says she and Adams were inspired by Eurodance sounds, especially those found on Madonna's Ray of Light.
