Astrid Sonne to release ‘Great Doubt EDITS’ with reworkings from Blood Orange, ML Buch, and more

London-based Danish artist Astrid Sonne broke through to a wider audience earlier this year, with her third studio album Great Doubt becoming one of the most acclaimed releases of Q1.

Now, as 2024 starts heading for the door and minds start wandering towards end of year lists, a timely companion piece arrives in the form of Great Doubt EDITS, featuring nine reworkings from friends and colleagues including fellow Danish artists ML BuchFineHVAD, and Molina, plus Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange), Hype Williams’ Alina Astrova in her Lolina guise, Vanishing Twin's Valentina Magaletti, Norwegian duo Smerz, British producer and DJ Conrad Pack, and Slauson Malone.

Says Sonne in a press release:

"The edits are made by friends and colleagues that I admire. The idea of doing edits rather than remixes came from wanting the artists to feel as free as possible when working with the material. Exploring different approaches is an essential part of my practice and it's been great experiencing the album translated and redefined through their ears."

Great Doubt EDITS is released in full this coming Friday (20 September) via Copenhagen's Escho Records. Watch the video for “Staying here”, compiled from fan footage, below:

Great Doubt EDITS tracklist:

1. Overture (ML Buch EDIT)
2. Everything is unreal (Valentina Magaletti EDIT)
3. Staying here (Je3's Appendix EDIT)
4. Almost (Lolina EDIT)
5. Give my all (TBC) (Blood Orange EDIT)
6. Do you wanna (Fine & Molina EDIT)
7. Boost (Conrad Pack EDIT)
8. Say you love me (Smerz EDIT)
