On the verge of releasing his first album since 2018's Testing, A$AP Rocky has officially announced that its follow-up, Don't Be Dumb, is being pushed back to autumn 2024.
A Billboard feature with the rapper/actor/fashion icon mentions the delay, and in a post on X, Rocky himself clarified that sample clearances are to blame.
LEAKS & SAMPLE CLEARANCES ARE DISRUPTING THE ALBUM. ITS BEEN 6 YEARS & I WANNA MAKE THE BEST ALBUM EVER. IM SORRY FOR THE WAIT. https://t.co/rA0Z9u66Sy

This announcement especially stings for diehard fans coming so close to the initial August 30 release date. In the time between albums, Testing has achieved a cult status among A$AP Rocky fans, despite the mixed reception upon release. And though he has released his fair share of singles over the years, there's no telling how many of them will actually wind up on Don't Be Dumb without an official track list. This delay continues the seemingly endless limbo state both the record and the fans have been stuck in.
