On December 10, Apple Music Radio doubled its lineup by adding three new stations: Apple Música Uno, Apple Music Club, and Apple Music Chill. The new stations will feature 24/7 sets hosted by curators and prominent artists alike.
In a press release, global creative director Zane Lowe said:
"In a world of AI and algorithms, Apple Music Radio is live. It’s real people, it’s a shared event, and I’m so excited to be broadening that experience to listeners worldwide with three new stations."
The radio feature was first launched in 2015 and at the time featured a single station, Beats 1, which played around the clock music spearheaded by Lowe. In 2020, Apple rebranded the lead station to Apple Music 1, and added two additional new stations, the adult contemporary and chart-focused Apple Music Hits and Apple Music Country, which currently features shows hosted by icons like Dolly Parton and Bootsy Collins.
The new stations are continuing the trend of shows hosted by artists. Spanish-language Apple Música Uno was launched with the premiere of Becky G's The Becky G Show and Rauw Alejandro's Cosa Nuestro Radio followed shortly after. Apple Music Club's docket of dance and electronic shows includes exclusive DJ sets by artists like FKA Twigs and Jamie xx. Weekly on Apple Music Chill, ambient trailblazer Brian Eno will be hosting Amber, which will include at least one unreleased song per episode.
Apple Music Radio is available for free, even to those without subscriptions. Listen now at https://music.apple.com/us/radio/.
