Anthony Green says no to a fan bringing six week old baby to his show

Anthony Green is currently on tour promoting his reworked solo album So Long, Avalon. Ahead of one of the shows, a fan commented on social media that they were planning to attend, but childcare had fallen through for their six-week-old baby. They still wanted to go and were waiting to hear back from the venue to see if it would be okay to bring the baby along.

The fan’s comment:

“(hopefully) seeing u next Friday. My husband & I have tickets but my childcare fell thru. Waiting to see if the venue will let me wear my 6 week old baby lol. I have noise cancelling headphones for her.”

Anthony Green, who is also a father, urged the fan not to attend and even offered to reimburse them. His full reply:

“Please don’t worry about the show. And just stay home with your baby. Shows that [are] my level are pretty gross and are no place for a six week old regardless of the headphones just breathing in all the people’s air. It scares me. I’ll reimburse you if you need to. I’m sorry to say this and I hope it doesn’t bum you out. I plan on living for 1000 years so they [sic] will be many more shows I promise don’t sweat this one.”

Looking forward to catching Green in 2982 when he’s touring LP number 3313. But the main takeaway here… don’t take babies to emo shows. The air around them is no good, and that’s a different kind of crying altogether.

What do you think?
