Robbin Kaye, longtime music supervisor for American Idol, and her husband, songwriter Thomas DeLuca, were found dead earlier this week in their Encino home. Both were 70. The couple died from gunshot wounds to the head in what authorities are calling a double homicide.

The LAPD has arrested a suspect: 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian. According to Lt. Guy Golan, Boodarian allegedly broke into the home while it was empty, but Kaye and DeLuca returned, leading to what Golan described as a “violent struggle.” Investigators do not believe Boodarian knew the victims.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows Boodarian jumping the fence and entering the house. There is no video of what happened inside.

Kaye had worked on American Idol since 2009. A spokesperson for ABC issued the following statement:

"We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom’s, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her. Robin will remain in our hearts forever and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time."
