All Best New Artist nominees perform at 2025 Grammys, Chappell Roan wins

The Grammys have been in full swing since earlier today, and during the middle of the show, there were a few unannounced and unexpected performances from the nominees for the Best New Artist category.

Khruangbin kicked off the segment after the program's return from commercial, performing their ultra-chill song "May Ninth". Oftentimes host Trevor Noah will make his way into the crowd, and for the Best New Artist award, he did just that, introducing the nominees: Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Khruangbin, Raye, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Teddy Swims. The camera shifted to Benson Boone, also nominated, who did his best Freddie Mercury impersonation performing his smash hit, "Beautiful Things," while flipping off a piano mid-performance.

Following Boone, Doechii channeled Eminem's 2000 MTV Music Awards with a presentation featuring Doechii clones, performing tracks from Best Rap Album winning Aligator Bites Never Heal, including her hit single "Denial is a River."

Teddy Swims then followed with "Simple Things," and Shaboozey took the stage next with "Tipsy (A Bar Song)." The performances concluded with Raye's rendition of "Oscar Winning Tears."

After the performances, The Grammys then took another break, with the awards returning to "On My Mama" singer Victoria Monet presenting the Best New Artist award to Chappell Roan. During her acceptance speech, Roan focused on the importance of artists’ rights, calling for healthcare and support for musicians, an issue she emphasized alongside a demand for livable wages.

Chappell Roan and Sabrina Carpenter also performed earlier in the evening in their own dedicated slots.
