Pop punk heroes The All-American Rejects surprised fans with an impromptu set at a house party in Columbia, Missouri — the fifth stop on a string of unannounced pop-up shows they're doing during their current tour.

The show was announced just hours beforehand by frontman Tyson Ritter, who posted a call to action on social media directing fans to sign up via the link in their bio to receive the party’s address.

The scene looked straight out of a 2000s teen movie: the band played in the front yard of what appeared to resemble a frat house, surrounded by a crowd of fans, with some even perched on the roof.

Toward the end of the set, Ritter announced they’d have to cut things short due to the police showing up, which led the crowd to start chanting “Fuck the police” as he exited the yard. However, he returned moments later to let everyone know they’d been granted permission to play one last song — offering a quick shoutout to local law enforcement before launching into their hit “Gives You Hell".
