Leah Bess

New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding has announced her fifth studio album, Train on the Island, due out May 8th via 4AD.

With it comes lead single "One Stop", a Fiona Apple-esque rhythmic piano tune where harding reflects on her career and meeting John Cale.

Watch the video below:

Train on the Island was made with Harding's frequent collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Dry Cleaning) at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales, and it features pedal steel player Joe Harvey-Whyte, harpist Mali Llewelyn, synth artist Thomas Poli, drummer Sebastian Rochford (Polar Bear) and multi-instrumentalist Huw Evans (H. Hawkline).

Harding, as announced in January, will be on tour in North America in in late summer and early fall. Today, she added new California shows in Santa Cruz and Los Angeles. See the full list of dates below.
