Alanis Morissette has been adding to her Christmas song repertoire bit by bit over the past six years, starting with covers of "What Child is This?" and the John Lennon/Yoko Ono classic "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" in 2020 through to last December's take on the hymn "Ave Maria."

Now she's gone the whole yule log with Good Weather for Immaculate Conception, a 14-track holiday album dropping November 6 via Epiphany/Music including two Morissette originals, "To An Empath At Christmas Time” and “Christmas On The Dancefloor.”

Lead single "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" features vocals from Brandi Carlile and the UK-based Trans Voices choir and Steve Martin on banjo. Listen below:

The album cover showing Morissette in big glasses and dusted with snow is clearly inspired by festive classic The Roger Whittaker Christmas Album, released in 1978, and Whittaker's own "Momma Mary" features on the tracklist with guest Amythyst Kiah. Other guests on the album include actor Martin Short on "Merry Christmas" and Joy Oladokun on "Silent Night."

"This record is just so sweet," Morissette told podcast Call Her Daddy recently. "It's just been this labor of Christmas love for me."

Morissette's previously announced LA residency Butterfly with a Machete, described as "a rock traumedy" and "Alanis Morissette like you've never seen her before," kicks off the night before the album release at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood. The four-night-only run includes additional performances on November 6, 10, and 11.
