Brittany Howard, of Grammy Award-winning band Alabama Shakes, has introduced her new hardcore project, KUMITE. The band is set to make its live debut on 12 January 2025, at Basement East in Nashville, Tennessee. Joining KUMITE are Snooper, Inner Peace, and Second Spirit.

The performance will be part of a benefit show, with all proceeds directed toward local charitable organizations including Second Harvest Food Bank Nashville and Nashville Launch Pad. In a recent social media post, Howard encouraged her followers to attend, stating the importance of community organization and involvement.

Nashville! Mark your calendars and plan to be at @thebasementeast on January 12th. I am bringing you a night of HARDCORE music featuring the incredible @snooper_7, @innerpeaceforever, & @secondspirithxc as well as the debut performance of my hardcore project KUMITE. All proceeds from the show will go to these wonderful local organizations @2harvestmidtn, @nashvillelaunchpad, & @southernmovementco. Stoked to share how y'all can get involved with one or more of these organizations that are helping our local community. And remember, it's hardcore as f*ck to community organize!

Tickets for the event went on sale on November 22, 2024, at 11 AM CT but tickets are still available.
