Ada Lea shares details of new album 'when i paint my masterpiece'

Montréal's Alexandra Levy, aka lowercase lover Ada Lea, follows up her 2024 EP notes with her third full-length album, when i paint my masterpiece, out 8 August via Saddle Creek

Recorded largely in the Ontario countryside towards the end of 2023, Levy co-produced the 16-track album with Here We Go Magic's Luke Temple.

Out today is imagistic lead single "baby blue frigidaire mini fridge". Listen below:

The song was partly inspired by "the Chantal Akerman film where the camera moves in slow circular pans around her apartment," or at least it was a jumping off point of sorts. As Levy posits in the press release:

"Then what if the frame quickly zooms out as far as it could possibly go? And in that wide pull back, what we recognize as universal is still ‘this chair, this window, this mountain view.’ Then, move out again, even further. What we are left with—three things: ‘our old time souls, this old time moon.’ Two things, I mean."
