Early studio and live recordings by Coldplay are among several new lots up for auction via music journal and memorabilia platform Wax Poetics, including a previously unheard song written by Chris Martin with a Bond theme feature in mind.
The acoustic demo was likely never submitted for the 1999 Pierce Brosnan-starring The World is Not Enough – soundtracked by Garbage – but that the ambition was already there makes this an interesting new footnote to the band's early career.
Among the other items put up for sale by producer Chris Allison, who worked with Coldplay on their 1999 EP The Blue Room, include the original master tapes and CDs for that record plus two demo archive cassettes marked "Coldplay Tracks" and "Coldplay: 5 Tracks," and a two-track live tape recorded in Chester, England in July '99.

Besides "The World is Not Enough," the collection features other songs that seemingly never progressed past demo form, including a track named "Ode to Deodorant." The auction runs for another 19 days and a proportion of Allison's proceeds will go to UK social impact charity Restore the Music.
Other lots newly up for sale via Wax Poetics include various items from Allison's work with The Beta Band, King Biscuit Time, and The Wedding Present, plus items from Little Dragon's Yukimi Nagano and Bootsy Collins.
