People love to say music brings people together. It’s the kind of line that gets tossed around in award speeches and Instagram captions. But this week, Disturbed frontman David Draiman decided to see if anyone out there would put the theory to the test.
On Monday, Draiman jumped on Twitter with what he called a “radical” idea: maybe music should be a bridge instead of another battleground. In his post, he pushed back on what he sees as nonstop identity politics and partisan noise bleeding into everything, including the art that’s supposed to help us escape it.
His proposal? Throw a festival that actually tests the theory.
He’s talking about Bad Bunny and Kid Rock on the same bill.
