Sad news to report as 3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold announced Wednesday that he is battling stage 4 kidney cancer, which has spread to a lung.

"I got some not good news for you today," Arnold said as he began a video posted to the band's Instagram. "I was sick a couple of weeks ago, and I went to the hospital and got checked out, and actually got the diagnosis that I had clear cell renal carcinoma that had metastasized to my lung, and it's stage 4 and that's not real good."

Due to the prognosis, the rock band will no longer appear on the Summer of '99 tour, which features Creed, Daughtry, and others. It is set to begin in July.

In the video, the 3 Doors Down singer and one-time drummer concluded:

"You know what, we serve almighty God, and he can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I am really, sincerely not scared of it at all. But it is going to force us to cancel our tour this summer, and we're sorry for that ... And I'd love for you to lift me up in prayer every chance you get, and I think it's time for me to maybe go listen to 'It's Not My Time' a little bit, right?"

Clear cell renal carcinoma is the most common type of kidney cancer; however, it is quite aggressive and easily spreads, according to the National Institute of Health.
