“Devil children unite!”
Looks like Philly’s vampire hardcore legends Ink & Dagger are crawling out of the crypt. A billboard just popped up in their hometown teasing what appears to be their first new album in 25 years. It's been 25 years since their frontman Sean Patrick McCabe tragically passed away in a motel room back in 2000, right after the band announced their breakup.
For the uninitiated, Ink & Dagger were only around for a hot second, forming in ’95 and dissolving four years later, but they left behind a cult reputation with their vampire theatrics and unhinged shows. In 2010 they briefly regrouped to headline This Is Hardcore and tour the UK with Geoff Rickly of Thursday stepping in on vocals, but otherwise the band has stayed buried.
The new billboard (and some matching Instagram posts) points to an album titled The Philadelphia Society of Future Vampires, with a release date of Halloween, naturally. The imagery of the billboard is a moody black-and-red shot of McCabe screaming in the background. So far, there’s no word on who’s handling vocals this time around, and no new music has surfaced just yet.
What do you think?
