Terrible news as 156/Silence bassist Lukas Booker has passed away, according to his family and bandmates. He died Friday at only 28 years old.

Booker's sister Brittany Patrick confirmed his passing by setting up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses, which has already raised more than $33,000.

Donations can be made here.

"Hello, my name is Brittany. I'm the oldest sister of Lukas Booker. We are asking for help to put my brother to rest. He passed away today suddenly and did not have life insurance. He was a great man and a wonderful light that made the world brighter. He would do anything for anyone that needed him. He absolutely loved his family, the band he played in, and his friends. Please help if you can, all donations will be given to his father, Maurice Booker. We appreciate all of you!"

Despite the heartbreaking loss, the rising metalcore band plans to carry on with their upcoming tour supporting Silent Planet and Invent Animate. The band is touring in support of their 2024 album People Watching.

The band also confirmed his passing in statement Saturday:

Yesterday afternoon we were devastated to learn of the passing of our brother, dear friend, and beloved bandmate Lukas Booker. Anyone that knew Lukas knew how kind, selfless, and genuine he was. He would watch every band, mosh before our set, and still had enough energy to put it all out there on stage. No matter where he was he was just happy to be there. He lived for music and his smile was infectious. In many ways he was the heart of 156, and the world is a darker place without him. His light will be immensely and immeasurably missed.

In his honor we will be continuing on with our scheduled shows. His family has also organized a gofundme if anyone is willing and able to donate I know they would greatly appreciate it.
We love you so much Lukas. You were supposed to be here for the whole ride, buddy. We were supposed to conquer the world together.

We'll see you soon brother.
