12-Year-Old North West signs record deal and heads into the studio

It looks like the Kardashian-West dynasty might have a new prodigy on its hands: North West is stepping into the music scene, following in her dad Kanye West’s (Ye’s) iconic footsteps.

The 12-year-old has just signed with the record label Gamma, founded in 2023 by former Apple exec Larry Jackson and veteran music industry strategist Ike Youssef. Gamma’s roster reads like a mix of legends and rising stars: Usher, Snoop Dogg, Sexyy Red, and Mariah Carey, one of her mom Kim Kardashian’s closest friends.

Coincidentally (perhaps), North West is the second major signing by Gamma in 2026. The first? Her dad. In January, Ye inked a deal with Gamma to release his forthcoming album, Bully, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Barely a week later, North dropped her debut single, “PIERCING ON MY HAND.” Clearly, musical ambition runs in the family.

Buzz about North breaking into superstardom has been simmering for months. Earlier this year, documents obtained by People revealed that Kim filed a trademark for a company called "NOR11". The filings suggest North West’s brand could expand beyond music into toys, dolls, puzzles, play-sets, party games, and even puppets.
