MIKE & Tony Seltzer - Pinball

Here we have a new short album-type crossover between East Coast rapper MIKE and rising producer Tony Seltzer. Tony, if you remember, just recently came out with a killer record with none other than Wiki, and he's continuing to make the abstract hip hop rounds here with MIKE, who also has a lot of sway in that fandom.

I'm happy the team up happened, if not only to hear MIKE over some different production. It's been cool as of late to hear him getting more ambitious with the types of beats he hops on, whether it's some fuzzy, slow-mo R&B loops, some drill-style stuff, or even glamorous 80s synthpop.

But with that being said, MIKE's song structuring on this project is not top tier. His rapping, I think, is pretty average for him. Very slow, very slovenly, very marble-mouthed. Even if this record does have some fun pockets here and there, the performances are too lackluster to really have me replaying any of it, honestly.

What do you think?
