Stream: KEN mode – “Counter Culture Complex”
Winnipeg’s metal/hardcore/noise outfit KEN mode have just recently wrapped up the recording of their fifth LP, Entrench, which is set to be released on March 19th. Produced by underground champion Matt Bayles, (Mastodon, Isis, Botch) the band finds themselves sounding more upbeat than ever with “Counter Culture Complex,” while still being able to make most of their peers look like amateurs. Front-man Jesse Matthewson spends just as much time shredding his larynx as he does the fretboard, and his charisma is simply too massive to deny. These guys are definitely on track to being one of the few artists in the genre truly pushing things to new boundaries.
The new song can be streamed for free at Pitchfork now.
