After some talk of a new album, the band has finally released the first single for this forthcoming LP, and the results are pretty surprising. Well, I guess that It shouldn’t be. Liars has always been a band that tries out a different approach with each album.

From dance rock to artsy, noise-laden punk tunes, Liars has covered a lotta ground since the band’s formation in 2000. On this new track, “No. 1 Against the Rush,” the band seems to be indulging in a bit of Joy Division worship with a sparse beat, retro-flavored synths, and a shadowy lead vocal.
