New Orleans R&B and funk legend Dr. John has a new LP out this week titled Locked Down. It’s out on Nonesuch, and the track above, “Kingdom of Izzness,” is from it.
The track features John’s aged vocal, a groove that lurks in the shadows, and an allegorical fantasy world painted in the lyrics.
