Stream: Eli Mardock- “Everything Happens for the First Time”
Ex-Eagle Seagul frontman Eli Mardock will be making his solo debut this year with the album Everything Happens for the First Time. The first song to drop from is is the title track, which can be streamed above or downloaded below, and I love the momentum of this track.

The rhythm is super smooth, the song is catchy, and the music is packed with ambitious instrumentation that calls out to bands like the Arcade Fire, too. I’m really digging Murdock’s vocal delivery, too. There’s a lot of genuine emotion in here, and his voice just reminds me a bit of Dan Boeckner’s.
