Why I love the internet age is because groups like Yamantaka // Sonic Titan have a way to get their music out there. Not that the band is bad, but I imagine it would be difficult finding an audience looking to hear this unique blend of influences.

The recording itself feels a little claustrophobic, but the sounds of psych rock, pop, sludge metal, ritualistic chants, and Chinese opera still comes through. The instrumental foundation of this album speaks to Western rock sensibilities, but the vocals, melodies, and structures reach an international level.
