Axel Thesleff- "The Burial of the Dead"

On his debut album, Axel Thesleff is doing a lot with a little. The music’s self-produced sound didn’t exactly stun my ears, but the creativity and ambition shown in tracks like the one above did.

The 12-minute “the Burial of the Dead” starts off like a number of instrumental beats do these days. But it eventually grows into some really impressive rising acoustic guitar arpeggios, heavy percussion, and some oddly alluring vocoder vocals. It’s definitely something I think the Schlohmo fans can get into.
