On Sept 6th via Western Vinyl, Here We Go Magic frontman Luke Temple will be dropping his third album under his own name: Don’t Act Like You Don’t Care.
A lot of this material is years old–take a look at “More Than Muscle”–and was somewhat shelved because Temple was focusing his efforts on Here We Go Magic due the project’s success taking off in ’08 and ’09. So this album could be a nice visit to the simpler side of Temple that new Here We Go Magic fans may be yet to hear.
On “Ophelia,” upright bass and marching snares chug along like a train against some twanged guitars and some zydeco accordion. Temple’s sweetly layered vocal harmonies glide across the top of the mix, and sound sunny in contrast to some of the spacey, rigid sounds to come out of Here We Go Magic.
