Gazelle Twin is the solo effort of UK singer-songwriter Elizabeth Walling, and her debut full-length, the Entire City, has recently been released via Anti-Ghost Moon Ray.
Some moments on Entire are a close shave when it comes to sounding a bit too much like the Knife or Fever Ray, but a good handful of these tracks cover territory too eerie to ignore.
On “Changelings,” Gazelle Twin performs at the volume of a whisper over a bleak beat and atmospheric synths. She sounds almost afraid as she’s singing the lyrics. It’s like listening to an abandoned fawn or baby bird.
