On the latest incarnation of Wu-Tang, the New York rap crew is still up to their old tricks. Here’s a new single to prove it: “Only the Rugged Survive.”
Produced by Noah Rubin, this track features RZA on the mic, rocking a familiar–if a bit hurried and hidden–flow. It’s backed by some assertive, retro horns, courtesy of Brooklyn’s own The Revelations. Check it, and protect your neck for the LP release, Legendary Weapons, on June 28 via E1.
The album is more of a compilation than it is a group LP, much like 2009’s Wu-Tang Chamber Music.
